Have you recently had a baby and are trying to get back in to shape? Are you feeling tight across the shoulders due to the increased postural demands of a newborn? Under the guidance of our physiotherapists you will learn how to activate specific deep stabilising muscles and the pelvic floor to achieve optimal joint stability and prevent urinary incontinence post-partum. Exercises will also be sequenced to re-train & learn specific postural control through functional day to day activities like lifting and holding your baby. Learning the correct way to activate your stability muscles in the post natal period is vital, as the body can adopt various ways of compensating that may potentially cause injury or ongoing pelvic floor issues.
This class is designed for new Mums (up to 6 months post natal) who have been cleared by the GP at their 6 week check. Babies, who are not yet crawling, are of course welcome at no extra charge! An ideal course to run for your Mothers Groups - Gather a couple of friends, let us know a time that suits you and register your interest with our reception.
