Johanna uses a combination of remedial and sports massage techniques to relieve symptoms caused by injury, tension and incorrect posture.
As a runner, Johanna understands the importance of keeping muscles and joints moving freely for improved performance. She enjoys working with anyone who needs to stay injury free and achieve their fitness goals!
Johanna also specializes in pregnancy and infant massage, helping mums and babies enjoy the benefits of soothing therapeutic techniques. Massage is a gentle, effective way to relieve pregnancy related aches and assist the physical and mental development of infants.
Kate has worked in paediatric physiotherapy since commencing clinical practice in 2006. Now largely based at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Kate has a special interest in managing lower limb injuries in children, and has presented widely on these issues at conferences in Australia and abroad, including holding regular clinics in the Pacific Islands. Kate has completed a specialist certificate in Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne.
Sophie is passionate about treating people from all walks of life & has a special interest in women’s health & sports injuries. Sport has always been a big part of Sophie’s life, coaching both touch football & soccer. With on-field experience at Gordon Rugby Club, she has developed a keen interest in injury prevention & exercise based rehabilitation. Outside of work Sophie enjoys an active lifestyle, going to the gym & catching up with friends and family.
Steph has gained valuable experience with sports coverage for Rugby Union & AFL with exposure to a huge range of sporting injuries. Steph is passionate about the importance of applying an active approach to the prevention & management of musculoskeletal injuries. As a keen runner, she recognises the value in exercise while maintaining a heightened understanding of how injuries can impact a person. She employs an empathetic approach to empower patients to achieve their fitness & health goals.
James graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Macquarie University. His physiotherapy degree is well complemented by his undergraduate studies where he attained a Bachelor of Management in Sport and Exercise, a Bachelor of Human Movement and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary). He has gained experience working in multiple sports such as Cricket, Football, Rugby, Athletics and AFL.
James is an elilte level sportsman himself currently playing first grade cricket for North Sydney as representing NSW in the 2nd XI side. He is also an avid golfer and football lover.
Through his experience on and off the sporting field James has developed an extensive understanding of sporting techniques and biomechanics with particular expertise in sprinting and cricket fast bowling.
Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2015) B.Phty, M.Phty (Musculoskeletal), FACP
As a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Nicola has clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings both in Australia and overseas. Having completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 1992 and Masters of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) in 2009, she successfully completed the 2 year Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy training program in 2015 and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Whilst Nicola has an interest in headaches, dizziness and the thoracic spine, her expertise also lies in the treatment of spinal conditions in general. Nicola’s philosophy is to undertake a comprehensive assessment to fully understand the problem and cause of the problem. She uses manual therapy and a ‘hands on approach’ to ensure her clients receive the right diagnosis and treatment directed to their specific dysfunction. In her spare time Nicola is a keen triathlete and skier.
Susanna has over 20 years experience in private practice and, having had 2 children herself, knows the importance of pre and post natal education. She uses this personal experience and her Clinical Pilates and physiotherapy theoretical knowledge to educate women about exercise and strength during and after their pregnancy, including postural and positioning advice for breastfeeding to reduce strain and injury to the neck and thoracic spin. She teaches Clinical Pilates classes to suit all fitness levels for both men and women. A great adjunct to her Clinical Pilates education is the use of Real Time Ultrasound to assess and train the pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles correctly. She is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.
Steve graduated from his Bachelor degree at Sydney University in 1999 and has gained experience working extensively with various sporting teams and private clinics in Australia and the U.K. Steve completed his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in 2009, gaining him greater depth of experience in a wide range of elite sporting teams from the Sydney Swans to the Australian Gymnastic Squads. Formerly an elite gymnast and keen footballer himself, Steve thrives on assessing and treating lower limb and pelvic biomechanical injuries and disorders, in order to ensure a quick and sustainable return to sport in all levels of sporting enthusiasts.
